Fiber Optic Cabling

Fiber Optics are generally used when very high speeds are necessary, and / or when the distance required to run the cabling is higher than the maximum of 100 meters that regular copper network cabling permits us. (Cat. 5e, Cat 6)

Fiber-optic communication is a method of transmitting information from one place to another by sending light through an optical fiber. The light forms an electromagnetic carrier wave that is modulated to carry information. First developed in the 1970s, fiber-optic communication systems have revolutionized the telecommunications industry and played a major role in the advent of the Information Age. Because of its advantages over electrical transmission, the use of optical fiber has largely replaced copper wire communications in core networks in the developed world.

The process of communicating using fiber-optics involves the following basic steps: Creating the optical signal using a transmitter, relaying the signal along the fiber, ensuring that the signal does not become too distorted or weak, and receiving the optical signal and converting it into an electrical signal.

About your Network Cabling :

Your network infrastructure is not something to be taken lightly. It will be the backbone of your data communications for years to come, and needs to be done properly in order to get the most out of it. Network Cabling needs to be installed in a certain way in order for them to work as they should. They must be away from high voltage electrical wiring, far from fluorescent light balasts, and attached / installed in a specific way in your ceilings. All of Cat-Comm's employees are certified network cable installers.

Sometimes people attempt to have the electrician install their data cabling. An electrician knows how to run a cable, there's no doubt about that, but how much experience do they have terminating the cables, or troubleshooting interference that's being caused on it. Will he be running the electrical and data cabling seperately using different paths, or will he run them all at the same time all together in order to save LOTS of time?

Cat-Comm always uses high end cable and jacks. All of our cabling is properly tested upon completion and numbered on both ends in a way that will make your computer guy very happy.

We can help you design your server room, install new cabling, relocate existing cabling, clean up your existing mess of wires, we do anything and everything that's related to data / telephone cabling !
